Rob and Susanna Hof have deep roots in Forest Hills. For each of them real estate is part of their family tradition. In fact Rob's maternal grandfather began in Forest Hills real estate in 1910 as vice president of the Cord Meyer Development Corporation and sold Susanna's grandparents their first home in Forest Hills' Arbor Close. Those were the days when daisy fields lined Queens Blvd. and plans were being laid for a garden city just a short commute across the Queensboro Bridge from Manhattan. Rob's paternal grandparents and their families were also involved in residential and commercial real estate in both Forest Hills and Manhattan since the early 1900s and were active supporters of philanthropic causes in the community.
After 14 years in the academic world, Rob and Susanna returned to Forest Hills to assume management of the family real estate business started by Susanna's parents, Virginia and David MacInnes. They returned to a vibrant community filled with residents who were interesting, accomplished and diverse including many young families and professionals who had discovered Forest Hills and made this wonderful urban community their home.
The Hofs brought with them an intimate knowledge of the community where they had grown up, a business acumen, an understanding of digital marketing and a commitment to ethical business practices. They also brought with them a love of Forest Hills and the many wonderful people who also call Forest Hills home. Both are actively involved in neighborhood organizations working to improve and preserve those qualities that make Forest Hills a unique community within an urban metropolis.
They and their family, three daughters and 5 grandchildren, make up the 6th generation living here in Forest Hills. And while they share a tradition that lies firmly grounded in the past, they look forward enthusiastically to a future that reflects the early ideals of Forest Hills' founders, to create a community with tree lined streets, beautiful gardens and architecturally interesting homes, within the heart of one of the most vibrant commercial centers of the world.
